Master of Science in Management Program

Managers in today's high-technology organizations, research labs and development industries face rapidly increasing complexity as the goals, people, projects and use of information technology continually change. Systems thinking is the foundation for effective management in this challenging environment.

Through the Master of Science in Management (MSM) Program, working professionals develop the skills, knowledge, values and philosophy to lead as global managers of people, projects and sustainable systems.  Focusing on systems management and information technology, the MSM Program integrates course work with professional work. MSM emphasizes leadership, service, collaborative work, virtual team processes, and Internet-based communication.

Course Availability:  The MSM program is offered at the University campus in Belmont, California.

Completion Plan:  Courses are scheduled (Schedule) so that students can complete the required courses in two years, taking one course at a time (each course is a seven week term).  Students may take more than one course at a time and otherwise adjust their schedule to work with their personal and professional goal.

Courses and Internet Communication:  Students can complete the entire program in classes that meet half-in class and half-online.  The half-online classes are supported by the educational online educational environment WebCT(tm), maintained on a University server. The MSM program has successfully augmented class participation through the half-online structure for over five years.

Students learn to lead and participate in team projects using online communication tools.  This strengthens their professional experience as they increasingly are involved in global projects as members of virtual teams.
